Portsmouth, UK | 30th June
As part of STR Group, Blackfield Associates, an international STEM-specialist recruitment organisation, is proud to announce it has officially obtained E-2 visa status from the United States government. This milestone marks a significant step in Blackfield’s strategic international expansion, allowing Blackfield to strengthen its U.S. operations while offering enhanced mobility and opportunities to UK-based professionals.
The E-2 visa is a non-immigrant visa available to nationals of treaty countries, such as the U.K., who invest a substantial amount in a U.S. business. Blackfield’s investment in its American entity qualifies the company to sponsor UK talent under this scheme, providing a streamlined route for experienced professionals to work and live in the United States.
“This is a major achievement that reinforces our commitment to growing our presence in the U.S. market, and our success is thanks to the efforts of our incredible award-nominated Legal & Compliance team, led by Emma Rees, Legal & Compliance Director, and our International Commercial Director Will Winfield,” explained Darren Day, Group CEO. “With E-2 status, we can mobilise our specialist UK talent and our own U.S.-focused consultants more efficiently to support our U.S. clients and their projects.”
Qualified UK professionals can now work in the U.S. through Blackfield, typically in 2-year increments, using renewable visas with a duration of up to 5 years. Plus, spouses of E-2 visa holders can also work in the U.S., and their children can attend school.
This opens up further opportunities for Blackfield’s top talent within areas such as:
- Automation / MES
- CQV & CSV
- Project Engineering Management
- Process Engineering / Package Owners
- Project Controls, Cost & Planning
- Construction Management & Safety
This places Blackfield among a limited number of recruitment organisations holding E-2 status, offering clients and candidates a unique value proposition. With this approval, Blackfield is poised to accelerate its global growth trajectory, while enabling its top-tier UK talent to make a meaningful impact in the United States.
