Position Summary
The Project Controls Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules for a diverse portfolio of manufacturing retrofit and capital projects ranging from simple to highly complex in scope and value.
Working closely with project teams, engineering partners, contractors, and corporate leadership, the scheduler will support project planning, budgeting, schedule risk analysis, cash flow forecasting, change management, and progress reporting. This role is also responsible for evaluating engineering and contractor schedules, monitoring project performance, and ensuring schedule alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Scope of Responsibilities
The Project Controls Scheduler will:

Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project schedules from project initiation through commissioning and closeout.

Serve as the primary scheduling resource for project teams, engineering firms, contractors, and senior management.

Monitor project schedule performance, identify potential risks, and recommend corrective actions.

Provide objective schedule status reporting and forecasts to project stakeholders and leadership.

Support commissioning, startup, and validation planning for pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.

Coordinate schedule integration across multiple project disciplines and stakeholders.
Technical Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:

Strong expertise in construction project scheduling and project controls.
-
Proven experience developing, maintaining, and analyzing complex project schedules.
-
Strong analytical skills, including schedule risk analysis, forecasting, and critical path analysis.

Knowledge of budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and change management processes.
-
Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Experience with database applications and project controls reporting tools.
-
Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing project funding and authorization documentation.
-
Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project schedules.

Review and analyze engineering and contractor schedules, bids, change orders, and schedule impacts.

Evaluate contractor progress against approved project schedules.
-
Develop, review, and manage commissioning, startup, and validation schedules.
-
Perform schedule forecasting and critical path analysis.
-
Support project budgeting, schedule updates, and change management activities.
-
Develop and manage cost and schedule forecasts for remaining project work.
-
Prepare monthly project controls reports, including schedule status, forecast, progress analysis, and executive summaries.

Lead schedule risk assessments and maintain project risk models.

Provide schedule performance metrics and recommendations to project management and senior leadership.

Education & Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction project controls, with a primary focus on project scheduling.

Experience supporting biotechnology or pharmaceutical projects is strongly preferred. Candidates with relevant experience in other highly regulated or industrial sectors will also be considered.

Experience with commissioning, startup, and validation activities is highly desirable.
